When BJP State President Kanna Lakshminarayana spoke to Modi, he thanked the Prime Minister for sanctioning several National Highways and Tribal University for Vizianagaram district. However, criticising Chandrababu, Kanna said: "Our Chief Minister is Luchha, Liar, Cheater and he is looting this state." During this banter of Kanna, Modi smirked sarcastically.
During a video conference with BJP Karyakartas from Andhra Pradesh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had listened to several concerns of his cadre and addressed them. However, at some instances, Modi exhibited rival-like behavior whenever his party members spoke about AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.
When a party member is disrespecting the CM of his own state, without at least respecting the position, it is unbecoming of a Prime Minister of the country to smirk at it, rather than address the Chief Minister respectfully despite the TDP being BJP's rival party. Ever since TDP broke ties with the BJP and walked out of NDA, the rivalry towards AP Chief Minister for both Modi and Amit Shah has become personal instead of remaining political.
