'Bang Bang' -'Magical Magnificent But Illogical And Idiotic Too' Verdict: **1/2By Parvez Chowdhary
'Bang Bang' - Movie Review by

Maverick Hrithik Roshan, mesmerizing beauty Katrina Kaif, monstrous movie budget, official re-make of Tom Cruise 'Knight And Day', super high octane stunts, mega fast car chases and mind boggling action sequences that too from Hollywood action director Andy Armstrong of The Amazing Spiderman 2 fame. In this entire super package the biggest collateral damage is 'SCRIPT'. Bad screenplay and illogical theme, confused plot and un-interesting script are main spoilers.
As a matter of fact the original version 'Knight And Day' itself is not a great flick.Ironically Bang Bang is a bad remake version. This kind of plots are not very friendly with typical Indian audience where we are accustomed to watch certain format. In fact the director Siddarth Anand(Salaam Namaste, Bachna Ae Haseeno and Anjaana Anjaani) is well versed making fair romantic flicks but he invaded into the action zone which is significantly much alien to him.
Bang Bang is a classic example of only style, no substance. In fact we get confused to judge whether it is action film or romantic one.
A notorious terrorist, Omar (Danny Denzongpa) plans to steal Kohinoor diamond to hamper extradition treaty between India and the UK. Thief Rajveer (Hrithik) comes to Shimla, meets Harleen( Katrina). But cops and criminals both are chasing Rajveer, Harleen gets embroiled into Rajveer's mess. Rajveer and Harleen are now on the run. They scale mountains, highways, seas, countries, in between they sing and romance. Eventually Rajveer's true identity is revealed and that's all.
As far as Hrithik Roshan is concerned, his looks, his stunt and his mind boggling dances are truly festival gift to his fans. Karina kaif in miniscule dresses entertains her fans as much as possible. Beautiful and magnificent locations of Prague, Abu Dhabi and Shimla are visual treat to watch.
Script writers Sujoy Ghosh and Suresh Nair miserably failed. Vishal-Sekhar Music is above average. Vikas Sivaraman and Sunil Patel camera work should be appreciated. If anything works in this film that is the chemistry between Hrithik and Katrina and of course high octane stunts and action sequences.
Bang Bang is strictly for Hrithik Roshan fans and for those that do not want an action flick they can avoid it. If you do't care logic and script but expect only stunts and dances then it is a feast for you.
Verdict : **1/2
