The A P High Court on Tuesday ruled that the Banjara Hills residential building, where the founder of TDP late N T Rama Rao lived till his demise with his wife Lakshmi Parvathi, must now go to his daughter Umamaheswari and not to Lakshmi Parvathi.
The division bench comprising justice B Praksasa Rao and justice Reddy Kantha Rao delivered this verdict while dismissing an appeal from Lakshmi Parvathi whom NTR married after the death of his first wife. "The NTR family never accepted her as one among them and fought with her about all the possessions that NTR left behind, including the party he founded," the bench said.
Upon perusing the documents, a civil court in Hyderabad earlier held that the building belongs to Umamaheswari and accordingly ordered Lakshmi Parvathi to leave the building. She preferred an appeal in the HC which also confirmed the lower court's order and gave two months time to Lakshmi Parvathi to vacate the house.
